I am torn between structure and rebellion, duty and irreverence, searching for balance between peace and the urge for change and challenge that inevitably brings both exhilaration and disillusionment. This is why, raised by Vietnamese Catholics and Buddhists, I am a Jew by choice. Why, trained as a scientist, I am both inspired by natural forms or materials, and eager to twist and contort them. Why, as the rare colorblind woman, Iā€™m drawn to vivid, aggressive hues. These confrontations give me agency.

I am a physician and health policy expert living and working in Washington, DC.

Member, Capitol Hill Arts League.
